New Ogden Utah FamilySearch Center Offers World of Discoveries
Family members of all ages will have fun making personal and family discoveries at the newest FamilySearch Center in the heart of Ogden, Utah, located at 321 22nd Street (adjacent to the Ogden Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). The inviting 12,000 square foot state-of-the art facility is 1 of 5 locations around the country offering some of FamilySearch’s signature interactive discovery experiences. A public open house will be held May 2–4, and it will officially open on Monday, May 6, 2019. The center is free to the public.
Families will enjoy discovering their family history and stories together using 11 life-sized interactive media and over 60 patron computers. There are 3 recording studios to capture personal and family memories. In addition to free monthly classes, a staff of over 50 volunteers is ready and willing to make your visit worthwhile. A play area for small children is well-situated so parents can explore their family history without leaving their children unattended.
Visitors of all skill levels are sure to have quick successes, capitalizing on FamilySearch’s vast historical resources and online premium family history services available for free through the center.
For the best personalized experiences, plan ahead. Create a free FamilySearch Account online. (Don’t forget the log-in and password you create!) Add what you know about your family in the FamilySearch Family Tree.
The center will be a unique destination for youth groups and tourists to learn the history of the area through the building’s design and layout. Photography throughout depicts local Ogden history, including a custom mural. Two original paintings by local artist Kathleen Peterson are also exhibited.
