I now see that when actually in the specific database no option for County restriction exists. If you search for Johnston births then go to Filter by birthplace some Dublin & Belfast births are set to USA, Europe & the Carribean and others Monahan Union, Hart & Newny, Newy are transcription errors for Monaghan & Newry. I suppose in theory the odd one could be an overseas notification but is unlikely given the time period that many were actually born abroad then registered in Ireland. When click on the names to expand the info Event Place New City, Trempealeau, Wisconsin, United States / Event Place (Original)Dublin, N City, Ireland is correctly North Dublin, Dublin, Ireland.
Mountmellick abbreviated as Mt Millick appears in the database under Malta & Monaco on restricting by Continental Europe.

I searched for Wetherall & Weatherall in Ireland.
In both Births and Deaths Lurgan is incorrectly allocated to County DONEGAL, Ireland when it is in County ARMAGH as such anyone restricting records by County will not find the information they desire. It may be worth investigating the feasibility of globally changing these as a quick check of other surnames suggests it is all Lurgan records.

Some Registration Districts span or cross County boundries, others do not and there appears to be no standarisation of input thus Ballymena, Ballymena, Ireland & Larne, Larne, Ireland are in County Antrim whilst Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland is correct.

Dublin the capital of Ireland is certainly not in County Tipperary.
"Clones, Clones, Ireland" is in both Co. Monaghan & Co. Fermanagh
There is also a lot of things like Bailieborough, Bailieborough, Ireland & Downpatrick, Downpatrick, Ireland (Co. Down).

Marriages are even more complex as they reflect the Church and Parish name and the database shows "Lurgan, Shankill, Lurgan, Ireland" being a marriage in the Parish of Shankill, Lurgan Registration District, Co. Armagh, Ireland.

The simplist solution may be to ignore the county as has been done for some eg "Londonderry, Ireland" & "Sligo, Ireland" and highlight the fact in the database summary and Wiki but as it stands is a right missmash of entry formats and location errors. Any input of County is unlikely to produce output.

The following websites show County allocations for Registration Districts in wither tabular or map form.

Thank you for adding records to Family Search. I hope someday to find the marriage records for my great-grandparents. I would love to see more Michigan, Minnesota, and New York records during the time period of 1850-1900.
Thank you.
